By lack of a better category.. the subject is not fantasy but mythological.
Epona, Gallo-Celtic goddess of fertility and protector of horses and travelers, during the Roman age. Even had her own celebration in Rome, on the 18th of December, is often seen with the Cornucopia ('horn of plenty). I wanted to show both her celtic (the knotwork, hair, etc) and her Roman (dress, cornucopia) aspects in this painting.
This will be the first of a series for my exhibition at Keltfest in May 2012.
This painting was made with watercolor and black marker on 200g watercolor paper and is 24x32cm.
